I think 90% of the posts are Au Pairs complaining about money, not the HF. I wish (as a HF) I could get this situation where the Au Pair is a family member. Unfortunately, most Au Pairs are more concerned about the money aspect and self travel/ventures. It is a good feel good post though.
Hey, I'm an American au pair in Germany. I get a little lower than the mandatory pay because I pay my phone bill (which also has me feeling some type of way, it's 15 euros but still not a thing I thought I'd pay for) and I don't get the extra 50 per month because they made it so instead I get 600 euros for the whole 11 months and that pays for my deutschkurs and my transit tickets.
